My passion for music was undoubtedly inherited from my parents. My dad was a drummer and my mother a singer in a jazzband in their younger and wilder years.

In grammar school I was responsible for deafening my fellow students with my selfmade drumkit. Later in high school I became the no.1 drummer for all the school parties. One of my "highlights" was an uptempo recording of "Jesus Christ Superstar", complete with choir. The warped single is still in my possesion.....
Every single minute I spent with playing music. I played in many different bands like "Laproaigh", "Shiehallion" and "Captain Peacock and the Gustlocks". In 1979 I went into

military service and I became a drummer in the "Militaire Kapel" from the Army. In that time period I became acquainted with Scottish (pipeband) music. After long hesitation (you had to wear a skirt!) I became a member of the Hague Highland Pipe Band in The Hague. I was the Pipe Major from 1982 till 1990 and I had a great time with lots of fun. In 1996 my job as an aircraft mechanic stopped at the Fokker plant in Amsterdam and I was offered to become a member of the Air Force at Woensdrecht airbase. In 2006 the Army founded a military pipe band, the "Blue Guards" and I became their Pipe Sergeant. I have always had a broad musical interest and during the past years I have also been playing bluesharp, saxophone and (midi)keyboard.
In 2003 I joined Slán and became a "folkie". I started there playing the Scottish smallpipes (a  neighbor-friendly version of the Great Highland bagpipes).
The last few years I have been involved with high- and low whistles...
