Band

"Slán" (pronounced: "slawn") is the Irish word for "Healthy" or "safe" and and is used to wish a safe journey and healthy

return and is also used as a goodbye underneath a letter (email).

The band Slán was founded in 2004 in Bergen op Zoom and we like playing Irish-, English-, Scottish- and Breton folkmusic. We are trying to get a good mixture of vocal and instrumental tunes in our playlist and we're always looking for an original approach to the music.

Slán has played at several festivals during the past years such as The Celtic Festival in Vlaardingen, The Ireland at the Sea

Festival in Scheveningen and the Celtic Festival in Hank. In folkclubs like "The Lantaern" in Zevenaar, Folkclub Twente and Folkclub Brielle. In the fall of 2007 we produced our first CD "South West" which was very well received. The song "Will you go to Flanders?" was voted third in Marc Gunn's "Celtic Top 5". His Irish and Celtic Music Podcast has a worldwide 30.000 to 40.000 downloads every episode.
